The Maid of Mer
Here's a little something I knocked out today, just for the fun of it. I think it took me 20 minutes, tops. The photo my dad shot, then I scanned, printed, watercolored and edited it. BAM.
Ok this is weird, but it makes me think of my dad. When I was little, I begged my mom for a quarter at the grocery store so I could get something out of the gum ball machines. I popped it in and got a little plastic ball filled with something green. I opened it up an inside was a little (and I mean tiny) green plastic mermaid. She was topless and had huge (REALLY BIG) breast. The poor thing couldn't even stay up because she was so top heavy. I decided that I was going to give it to my dad for Christmas since it was around that time. I put it in his stocking that night. Come Christmas morning, he pulled that busty mermaid out of his stocking and the total shock on his face was priceless. Of course I don't think I fully understood it completely at that time. He still has that little mermaid in his office drawer..LOL
