Good Stuff

I luckily, recently had an image of my thesis work featured on the Baltimore Fishbowl! Right on top! Getting your thesis images online is really helpful, I'll tell ya what. The trio's final exhibition is coming in April-May, and it's great to give a bit of a pre-show to whet the audience's appetite. Thanks, Baltimore Fishbowl!

I also have some truly exciting things in the works for the Art That Circles The Earth Project! Along with my current thesis work, I will be exhibiting the mandalas that all of the artists and I have been creating for the past three years. It's been a long time coming, but I'm certainly proud to announce this event...

According to the planning so far, it's going to be a real humdinger of a show. Come see it Bmore, save the date (May 12)!

You & Me

...and also, everybody else. I just got word from curator/juror, Lilianne Milgrom that I was accepted into an upcoming show in Washington D.C.!

"It is a pleasure to inform you that you have been accepted into the upcoming juried exhibition at MOCA DC entitled You, Me and Everybody Else. Your work is a wonderful example of contemporary figurative interpretation..."

This was one of the more excellent acceptance letters I have ever received for an exhibition. I have been trying to get into more local shows lately and this one was worth the chance!  For this exhibition, I will be showing two of my pregnancy watercolors, The Center and The Center II. The Center remains one of my favorite pieces that I have ever created. I still remember the mesmerizing affect that the model, Myra had on me at the time. It acts as a "time stamp" piece for me, as I know exactly who I was and what I was feeling at the time that I created this. So needless to say, this one went straight into my permanent "home collection". It has a prominent location, straight ahead as you walk up the short flight of stairs, all eyes an Myra!

This exhibition will be open from April 6th through April 28th at UPFRONT@MOCA DC, with the reception and curator's talk on Friday, April 13th. If you are in the Washington D.C. area, please stop by, I'd love to see you!

Confirmation for the Solo Show!

Okay, so I finally have confirmation on my upcoming solo show, which occur this Fall. I am very excited to be showing my 3 Tributaries work at the Adriondack Lakes Center for the Arts located in Blue Mountain Lake, New York! YAY!

"We would like to offer you the dates of October 5 2012 - November 3 2012 for your exhibit, and November 3 2012 for the gallery reception."

It's actually really fortuitous because October is traditionally Domestic Violence Awareness month in the U.S.. I am hoping that I can do some community outreach/programming regarding DV in that area. I still have a long time to plan with them and wait for this though, so anything can happen in the meantime.

Right now I am just excited and grateful that the series that is most important to me is able to be shown at least one more time.

Cheers!
