Light Painting

meh.
These look way better in person because they're too large to scan. Very light watercolors...they're kind of sorrowful, aren't they?

i came back cause i wanted to look again. i really like looking at them, even if i dont concentrate cause its pleasantly light, airy to the eye. but thats just me, i dont usually like getting visually assaulted.

I enjoy the lightness yet freedom in this group. I am very curious to know why you incorporate circles in lots of your paintings? Is this significant to you? Also how do you make the scratch markings?? or rather with what? Do they go all the way through the paper?

well the circle mystery is a big one. i think they represent a body when there is no figure. the inside maybe, the soul?
making circles is like a zen movement for me. it's almost an obsession. but it give me a break from the rest of the gore i make.
sometimes the scratches go through the paper, sometimes not.
i take an approach of tearing things up. deconstruction to make my art.
i score the paper, i think it looks like a scab. i have used that as a metaphor with my figurative paintings for quite some time.
it's really how i approach drawing on the paper. it is a very unforgiving process though because every mark you make WILL show. so erasing, no second chances.
